Welcome aboard to the official site of the Lake Ontario Pro-Am Salmon Team Tournament Trolling Circuit - located in Niagara, Orleans, Oswego and Wayne counties. Located along New York’s south shore of Lake Ontario, the Lake Ontario Pro-Am Series is now under the headline umbrella of AES Somerset. This power generating facility will be representing the Lake Ontario Pro-Am Salmon Team Tournaments for the first time and we welcome their involvement in a big way.

The format for the tournament is peculiar in that it’s a team event based on ten points per fish and a point per pound, stretched out over two days of fishing. The teams with the highest point totals earn some great prizes, as well as the prestige of placing high in one of the most competitive events on the Great Lakes.

The Niagara tournament, the longest running of the circuit, will be celebrating their 24th event in 2008. The tournament is now named after one of its founders, Walter "Skip" Hartman. Oswego County has been around for 12 years, entering its 13th in 2008; Wayne is entering into its 5th contest. Orleans County is starting its third year and tournament organizers are anticipating a great event with plenty of cash and prizes up for grabs.

In addition to the individual tournaments themselves, these events – Niagara, Orleans, Oswego and Wayne - combine to form a unique series. The winner of the series - based on teams competing in all four events and posting the highest point total (again, using a unique scoring system) in both the pro and amateur divisions - will receive special cash prizes. This year, a $250 entry fee is being added to ensure a bigger prize structure – offering 100 percent cash pay back. By the time it's all said and done, more than $200,000 in cash and prizes has been up for grabs between the four events. In 2008, we’re going to be pushing $200,000 in cash and prizes for four events once again. However, it's not the cash and prizes as much as the prestige of being able to lay claim as the top team on the lake for the year. These tournaments attract the top anglers from around the Northeast, a tribute to the tournaments themselves. Become part of the Lake Ontario Pro-Am Salmon Team Tournament Series presented by AES Somerset. It's starting to catch on in a big way and it's the perfect celebration to one of New York's greatest natural resources. Come share in the fun!
